    LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CURRICULUM FOR CORPORATE VENTURING AT A GLOBAL MANUFACTURING CONGLOMERATE


    Business Issue
    A global manufacturing conglomerate sought to invigorate its corporate venturing activities, enhance related competencies among star executives of the organization and to promote better results from deal flow generation, opportunity assessment and investment selection.

    How We Helped
    We served as a business partner to corporate top management and HR management. We worked with a cross-functional team to assess competency gaps, to design a 20 day venture leadership curriculum to be delivered over 9 months, to gain corporate support and funding, and to obtain participation of investment "champions" hand-picked by division management. Further, we assisted in selecting and assembling a hybrid team of trainers from the companies own successful invested company CEOs and from industry experts. We also facilitated the program and instructed certain sessions, especially to foster collaboration and promote the sharing of strategic priorities across enterprise "fiefdoms".

    Benefits Delivered
    The HR stakeholders successfully redesigned their leadership training in a manner relevant to the emerging business priorities of top management which were corporate venturing, technology commercialization and preparation of equity fund management executives.
